Brittany and Tim | Devils Thumb Ranch May Wedding   no comments

There are simply not enough words for how lovely Tim and Brittany (and their friends and families) are.  Kind, sweet and excited about the future and all of the opportunities that await them.  Brittany and Tim’s wedding over Memorial Day at Devils Thumb Ranch was absolutely spectacular and full of the personal wedding details that warm my heart.  Here are some of the beautiful photos from CR and Tiffany of Brinton Studios.

Ribbons, hot pink and orange flowers and chandeliers.  Brittany had done her homework before we started working on her wedding design and she knew exactly how she wanted this day to look and feel.  For a mountain wedding at the end of May (snow on the mountains and the grass and leaves are just starting to turn green)  bright colors are a great choice.  And when when Brittany told me that the only negative work review she had ever received was that she had to stop wearing ribbons in her hair to work (seriously, she is the most adorable person ever)  CLEARLY we had to work them in to the wedding design.  It’s who she is!

Julie Sandusky from JS Custom Design knocked my socks off with all of the print work. The invitations incorporated every single element of our design and the colors were spectacular.  Above we have the pink and orange escort cards (made to look like old school lift tickets) — see the slight nod to ribbons?

Quite possibly the nicest group of bridesmaids on the planet.

For decor in the Broad Axe Barn at Devils Thumb Ranch, we hung 3 individual 5′ chandeliers from the large wooden beams.  For the tables, we brought in champagne satin tablecloths with a light embroidered vine overlay (to soften the table).  We created two individual tablescapes (why make a decision when you can have both!) one being a low tuscan inspired ceramic pedestal containers filled with orange voodoo roses, fuschia roses pink hydrangea, sweet peas and pink amaranthus and the other table having a sand blasted manzanita branch anchored in river rocks with rose / orchids clusters and hanging LED candles (anchored in a bed of rose petals).  Every place setting was accented by a pink cymbidium orchid.  For a room with a ceiling as high as the one at Devils Thumb Ranch, I love to alternate the tablescapes.

Candy bar – Check!  Vintage wooden skis to sign instead of a guest book – check!

My favorite part of the evening – Brittany and her Dad started their father / daughter dance with a slow and sweet song (Somewhere Out There)  and about 30 seconds into the slow dance, the DJ switched it up to Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Brittany and her Dad suprised their guests by busting out all of the original dance moves.  It. was.  hysterical.

Brittany and Tim, all the love in the world to the two of you.  Working on your wedding was an absolute joy.

Lyndsay and Dryden’s Devils Thumb Ranch Wedding   no comments

Okay, okay . . .I’ll admit it – we blog stalk.  Rami and I spend at least a few hours a week checking out some of our favorite Colorado wedding vendors (photographers, florists, other planners, etc) blogs to see what people are doing.  Getting inspired.  Checking on new trends and publications.  Just seeing what’s going on outside of Winter Park :) .  You can imagine how thrilled we were to see one of our absolute FAVORITE brides from last season on the new Luxe Mountain Weddings blog (and the lovely pictures from Jenna Walker Photography are going to be featured in the premier issue of Luxe Mountain Weddings Magazine!)  This lovely orange October Devils Thumb Ranch wedding is sure to set the bar quite high for this new Colorado wedding publication.  The lanterns, the linens, the simply stunning all orange floral design.  We loved creating this wedding!!

Winter Park Winter Wedding | Devils Thumb Ranch Wedding   no comments

This wedding was one of the coolest weddings we have ever done.  Literally, it was -45 degrees here in Tabernash that first week of February this year (that was not a typo – it was NEGATIVE 45.  Anywho . . .).  Looking at these two, you would never know it was freezing (or 70 degrees below freezing).  This stunning couple (inside and out) played in the snow, ran around in the stables and we got to bring in 12′ tall trees wired with 1000′s of feet of twinkle lights (which are now planted on the family ranch in Oklahoma).  And let me tell you, the Broad Axe Barn at Devils Thumb Ranch ab-so-lute-ly glowed.  Enjoy these simply beautiful pictures from our new photography crush, Aaron Snow.  If you would like to see more from this stunning day, check out the feature on weddingchicks!  I have a whole new appreciation for burlap mixed with ruffles, feathers and a million twinkle lights . . .

And now, kuddos to the most . fun . bridesmaids . dress. Ever.

A great big old thank you to one of our favorite couples and the entire crew who made this day happen . . .

And now, the rest of the photos from Brinton Studios.  I loved this day . . .

I simply want everyone to have this much fun on their wedding day (and from the smiles on their faces, you would have never known that is was freezing outside).

For decor, we mixed and matched vintage bottles and jars with all white flowers (anemonies, lisianthus, roses, hydrangeas and stock) and mixed in unusual textures (succulents and pods)  I loved it.  Then we re-appropriated everything from the aisle and reused for table centerpieces.

Paula Thomas from Teacup Bakery made the most incredible dessert buffet I have ever seen (or tasted :)   and Julie Sandusky did a perfect job on all of the printwork.  And Matt Kenfield of Elite DJ kept everyone dancing all night long!

I loved every single part of this wedding.  Tiffaney and Dave — I wish you two a lifetime of love and happiness and sledding in very fancy clothes :) .

Brinton Studios and Pick Me! Floral and Events   no comments

Every once in a while in your professional life you come across someone who is meant to be a friend for life – I mean real life.  In the case of Brinton Studios, we got 2 out of the deal.  The flying bouquet (i.e. bridal bouquets being CHUCKED in the air as high as possible) has become somewhat of a signature picture in the last few years for Pick Me and Brinton Studios.  It all started with this . . .

The very first time we worked together on Mark and Annie’s wedding, I told CR and Tiffany that I was looking for a new logo – something fun and sassy and different.  I kid you not, moments later,  CR walked in and showed me this shot on his digital camera.  Needless to say – thank you Brinton Studios!  The color, the sky,  the light, the clouds looking like a sweet smoke trail, I couldn’t have planned this if I tried.  Since that fateful day in May two years ago, these magnificent photographers have been encouraging our mututal clients to throw the bouquets  and have FUN on their big days.  Needless to say, I never actually see this happening at the time.  But the end result is some of my favorite wedding pictures  . . .

Brinton Studios and Pick Me Floral and Events simply make weddings fun!

Brynn and Braeden – Devils Thumb Ranch Wedding   no comments

Brynn and Braeden’s September wedding at Devils Thumb Ranch was gray and yellow – fall wedding perfection.   This gorgeous couple is friends with one of our favorite couples (Mark and Briley) from a few years ago.  Fast forward a few years and we were honored to get the call.  Rami had such a wonderful time creating the decor and serving as the coordinator for this perfect day.  Enjoy some of the lovely photos from our friend Paige Elizabeth.

Brynn and Braeden – we hope you are having a blast in Thailand right now.  We cant wait to ski with you this winter . . .

Katie and Griffin – Devils Thumb Ranch Wedding   no comments

Katie and Griffin got married!  This adorable couple booked and planned the ENTIRE wedding site unseen – no face to face meetings – and we pulled off one of my favorite weddings of the season with some of our favorite people to work with!

From a design point, we built the flowers around bright and happy Colorado Sunflowers accented with viking poms, hypericum berries, purple snapdragons, sweet peas, veronica and lisianthus.  Individual sunflower heads were placed on each plate and the tables were anchored with 12″ reclaimed barnwood boxes filled the purple and yellow blooms.  Overhead we hung iron lanterns (with LED candles) that were accented by Matt of Elite DJ’s fantastic uplighting.  The delicious cupcakes were courtesy of Paula with Teacup and the beautiful pictures are thanks to CR and Tiffany of Brinton Studios .

Katie and Griffin – thank you for trusting us with the details and decor of your wedding day.  Thank you for being fun and remembering what your wedding day is all about (each other!) and thank you for not being afraid to have a shoe change every 2 hours.  Now- for your viewing pleasure – a small collage of Katie’s shoes!

Katie and Troy – Sunspot Wedding, Winter Park Ski Area   1 comment

Katie and Troy got married on one of the beautiful days of August at the top of Winter Park Resort at Sunspot.   Not only did this amazing couple have a phenonimal wedding (and we were lucky enough to do Troy and Katie’s day-of wedding coordination and flowers) on the top of the world, the week before the wedding they moved to Colorado!  I had such a great time working with these two and the lovely Autumn Burke of Autumn Burke Photography.  A great wedding and a bunch of new friends out of the deal . . .

Tanja and Chris – Devils Thumb Ranch Wedding   1 comment

Small wedding – ok.  Middle of the week – sure.  One of the  … most  . . . fun couples on the planet – without a doubt.  Chris and Tanja’s August wedding at Devils Thumb Ranch was a hoot.  And kudos to any bride and groom who can plan a wedding and move across the country – in the same week.  Enjoy these beautiful images from our friend Karina Heneghan!

Rami got to have so much fun with the design of this Kings Table.  Potted plants and succulents were mixed with fresh floral arrangements made from blue hydrangeas, purple lisianthus, cosmos, aster and bells of Ireland.  For height we added some manzanita branches and for a lush feeling at the bottom, we ran green garland mixed with candles.  Each table setting was accented with a sprig of lavender and rosemary.

Now – I am not saying that our weddings are more fun than other peoples – but we do seem to attract those who dance . . .and those who do fan kicks.  The Fever played all night and this crowd never stopped dancing!

Thank you again to Tanja and Chris for remembering that this is FUN!  Check out Karina’s Facebook page for the rest of these pictures (and lots more dancing and photobooth silliness!)
