Devil’s Thumb Ranch Winter Wedding | Lyndsey + Jason say I DO!   no comments

Happy April – to celebrate the fact that is snowed 10″ this morning here in Winter Park (seriously) I want to share the first of two Winter Park Colorado weddings that I did with Brinton Studios the last week of March.  Once upon a time on an oh-so cold and snowy day . . .

I loved this wedding – I love this couple and I loved that fact that they had so much FUN on their wedding day.  It was a treat to create a gorgeous wedding for a fantastic Winter Park couple (recognize them??), taking pictures at Tabernash Tavern (after all, it was the site of their first date – worked out pretty well  . . .) dancing with Sundog (their band) and just having a pretty good day.  I adore this bright and happy color palette that I was able to create using hearts roses, James Storeii Orchids, mokara orchids and ranunculus that was to die for.  The bright pink and red mixed with mercury glass candles and lanterns – I thought that the Broad Axe Barn at Devils Thumb Ranch absolutely glowed.    And to think that this was what it looked like outside . . .

Tiffaney and Dave’s Winter Wedding at Devils Thumb Ranch   1 comment

And now, the rest of the photos from Brinton Studios.  I loved this day . . .

I simply want everyone to have this much fun on their wedding day (and from the smiles on their faces, you would have never known that is was freezing outside).

For decor, we mixed and matched vintage bottles and jars with all white flowers (anemonies, lisianthus, roses, hydrangeas and stock) and mixed in unusual textures (succulents and pods)  I loved it.  Then we re-appropriated everything from the aisle and reused for table centerpieces.

Paula Thomas from Teacup Bakery made the most incredible dessert buffet I have ever seen (or tasted :)   and Julie Sandusky did a perfect job on all of the printwork.  And Matt Kenfield of Elite DJ kept everyone dancing all night long!

I loved every single part of this wedding.  Tiffaney and Dave — I wish you two a lifetime of love and happiness and sledding in very fancy clothes :) .

Audrey and Josh got married at Devil’s Thumb Ranch   no comments

On the Wednesday afternoon between Christmas and New Years, I was reminded once again why I love what I do.  Audrey and Josh’s wedding at Devils Thumb Ranch was winter wedding perfection.  Beyond the cake (delicious and from Mermaid Bakery) or the lovely flowers (from Lisa of Sweet Pea) or these stunning photos from Brinton Studios – Audrey and Josh are so madly in love – it seemed like no one else was in the room.  I hope everyone feels like these two on their wedding day – thank you for picking us for your day-of wedding coordination.  I adored being a part of this perfect day. . .

Nope – not a Stetson commercial – this is what Devils Thumb Ranch actually look like  . . .

Desiree and Brett got married at Devils Thumb Ranch   no comments

Desiree and Brett’s wedding was a snowy winter wonderland kind of Colorado Ranch wedding (it was only November but the snow was flying!).  I loved creating this floral design built around medium and dark pink roses, privet berries, dahlias, kale and Bells of Ireland.  Desiree created so many personal details (custom napkins, individual jars of jam, birdcages and custom wooden signs) that the entire day felt intimate and warm (despite the freezing temps!)  Devils Thumb Ranch served as the perfect venue,  Brinton Studios outdid themselves (AGAIN) capturing the day (click here to see the rest of this beautiful day) and Teacup Bakery created the delicious wedding cake.

Brinton Studios and Pick Me! Floral and Events   no comments

Every once in a while in your professional life you come across someone who is meant to be a friend for life – I mean real life.  In the case of Brinton Studios, we got 2 out of the deal.  The flying bouquet (i.e. bridal bouquets being CHUCKED in the air as high as possible) has become somewhat of a signature picture in the last few years for Pick Me and Brinton Studios.  It all started with this . . .

The very first time we worked together on Mark and Annie’s wedding, I told CR and Tiffany that I was looking for a new logo – something fun and sassy and different.  I kid you not, moments later,  CR walked in and showed me this shot on his digital camera.  Needless to say – thank you Brinton Studios!  The color, the sky,  the light, the clouds looking like a sweet smoke trail, I couldn’t have planned this if I tried.  Since that fateful day in May two years ago, these magnificent photographers have been encouraging our mututal clients to throw the bouquets  and have FUN on their big days.  Needless to say, I never actually see this happening at the time.  But the end result is some of my favorite wedding pictures  . . .

Brinton Studios and Pick Me Floral and Events simply make weddings fun!

Tina and Charlie’s Devil’s Thumb Ranch Thursday wedding   no comments

The minute Tina called and started talking about her wedding – I knew I liked her.  She is kind, madly in love with Charlie and has her priorities in order.  Her side of the conversation went something like this – “it’s a small wedding and I dont really want a lot of flowers because it’s really all about the dress”  OK – I said – then she started to describe the dress.  Anyone who loves weddings KNOWS this dress, after a second of describing it I said “the cap sleeve lace Monique Lluillier with the keyhole back – uummmmm, yeah, I know that dress – I dont blame you!”  Tina – the dress is absolutely stunning.  Enjoy these gorgeous photos from the lovely CR and Tiffany Brinton of Brinton Studios.  Click here to see the rest of this love story on their blog!

Katie and Griffin – Devils Thumb Ranch Wedding   no comments

Katie and Griffin got married!  This adorable couple booked and planned the ENTIRE wedding site unseen – no face to face meetings – and we pulled off one of my favorite weddings of the season with some of our favorite people to work with!

From a design point, we built the flowers around bright and happy Colorado Sunflowers accented with viking poms, hypericum berries, purple snapdragons, sweet peas, veronica and lisianthus.  Individual sunflower heads were placed on each plate and the tables were anchored with 12″ reclaimed barnwood boxes filled the purple and yellow blooms.  Overhead we hung iron lanterns (with LED candles) that were accented by Matt of Elite DJ’s fantastic uplighting.  The delicious cupcakes were courtesy of Paula with Teacup and the beautiful pictures are thanks to CR and Tiffany of Brinton Studios .

Katie and Griffin – thank you for trusting us with the details and decor of your wedding day.  Thank you for being fun and remembering what your wedding day is all about (each other!) and thank you for not being afraid to have a shoe change every 2 hours.  Now- for your viewing pleasure – a small collage of Katie’s shoes!
