This wedding was fun.  Textures and unique floral combinations.  I loved it.  We mixed blue mason ball jars with clear glass bottles and copper colored mint julips cups filled with everything from kangaroo paw to peonies to crespedia to kale.  Of course, a kings table with a burlap runner is absolutely gorgeous in the Broad Axe Barn at Devils Thumb Ranch.  And Paula from Teacup’s dessert table??  Yep, pretty fantastic (as always!)  Here are some of my pictures of the fun!

Erin and Jonny – Napa wedding with Brinton Studios   1 comment

There are simply not enough words for me to express how much I loved this wedding.  One of the prettiest things I have ever been a part of, definitely two of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of working with – who am I kidding, this wasnt work.  This was one of the best week-long parties that I have ever been to.  Erin and Jonny – hurry up and get home from Thailand so we can all go out.

And . . .I am not promising anything, but if you hire Pick Me Floral and Event Designs / Love this Day and Brinton Studios for your destination wedding – you too may have Robert Redford calling and complaining that your party is too much fun . . .

Seriously . . .all small dogs should wear bow ties.

All the love in the world to you two, your families and your friends.  I am honored that I was a part of this.  XOXO

Super 70′s photoshoot with Jamee Photography   Leave a comment

A few weeks ago I had an incredible opportunity to do not 1 but 2 photoshoots with Jamee of Jamee Photography.  Her work is lovely and we had a great time pulling together something new and fun and kinda sexy. . .  Dont get me wrong, I love a good Ranch / Resort wedding but it was a BLAST to pull off something in Denver!

A HUGE thank you to all of the Denver wedding vendors who pulled this off!

Red and Orange Photoshoot with Jamee Photography   Leave a comment

Sass-a-fras.  I adore everything about this style shoot that I got to do with Miss Jamee of Jamee Photography.  When Jamee called me this spring and asked if I was interested in working on a little Denver wedding photoshoot with her, I jumped at the opportunity.  Short and sweet and covered in tatoos – I hope you enjoy this as much as I did . . .

And another HUGE thank you to the amazing team of Denver wedding professionals who pulled together to make this shoot stunning.  And I was thrilled to see that this was already featured in Couture Colorado.  Hop on over and take a look!

Casey and Nate’s Devils Thumb Ranch Winter Wedding   Leave a comment

There are so many things that I love about weddings – the dresses, the decor, the tiniest details – the obvious things.  But more than that, what makes a wedding incredible to me, is when there are 2 people so in love that they dont even see anyone else in the room.  Casey and Nate are those two people.  Kind and loving and so sweet – the way that Nate looks at Casey and the way that makes Casey grin – that, my friends, is why I love what I do.  Enjoy these beautiful photos from Brinton Studios of this lovely March Devils Thumb Ranch wedding.

Okay, okay . . .I’ll admit it – we blog stalk.  Rami and I spend at least a few hours a week checking out some of our favorite Colorado wedding vendors (photographers, florists, other planners, etc) blogs to see what people are doing.  Getting inspired.  Checking on new trends and publications.  Just seeing what’s going on outside of Winter Park :) .  You can imagine how thrilled we were to see one of our absolute FAVORITE brides from last season on the new Luxe Mountain Weddings blog (and the lovely pictures from Jenna Walker Photography are going to be featured in the premier issue of Luxe Mountain Weddings Magazine!)  This lovely orange October Devils Thumb Ranch wedding is sure to set the bar quite high for this new Colorado wedding publication.  The lanterns, the linens, the simply stunning all orange floral design.  We loved creating this wedding!!

Photography Workshop   Leave a comment

Inspire.  Create.  Scare Yourself Silly.  Try Something New.

I had an amazing opportunity a few weeks ago to participate in a weekend photography workshop taught by 2 people I admire.  Jenna Walker and Katie Thurmes are simply phenomenal at what they do (umm, taking amazing pictures) and I have always respected their business model (create art. be kind.  be honest.  charge a fair price.  treat people well) so when I saw that they were doing a workshop for women photographers – I was intrigued.   Then I saw the website for the workshop (called Substance) and there was a Mumford and Sons song playing and  . . . I was a goner (I am a sucker for that band!)  I registered for a workshop for women about to start their own photography businessses  . . . and then I went online and bought my first SLR camera :) .

The weekend proved to be more than I could have hoped for.  I met some new photographers who are about to take the world by storm, I developed an entirely new respect for wedding photography (and if you have read this blog before you KNOW I am somewhat in love with it already) and I was able to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes.  I was invited to see a new side of the Colorado wedding industry and (hopefully) I learned a few new ways to make my wedding planning as well as the floral and decor design side of things work even better.  I was fortunate to meet some amazing women in the Denver and Boulder wedding market (for instance the wedding shoot featured in this post was designed by Rachel from Talia Events).  The long and short it it,  I got excited and re-inspired for my 2011 summer wedding season.

I have a long long way to go with photography but I love it.   Here’s to trying something new.  Happy Thursday.

Devil’s Thumb Ranch Winter Wedding | Lyndsey + Jason say I DO!   Leave a comment

Happy April – to celebrate the fact that is snowed 10″ this morning here in Winter Park (seriously) I want to share the first of two Winter Park Colorado weddings that I did with Brinton Studios the last week of March.  Once upon a time on an oh-so cold and snowy day . . .

I loved this wedding – I love this couple and I loved that fact that they had so much FUN on their wedding day.  It was a treat to create a gorgeous wedding for a fantastic Winter Park couple (recognize them??), taking pictures at Tabernash Tavern (after all, it was the site of their first date – worked out pretty well  . . .) dancing with Sundog (their band) and just having a pretty good day.  I adore this bright and happy color palette that I was able to create using hearts roses, James Storeii Orchids, mokara orchids and ranunculus that was to die for.  The bright pink and red mixed with mercury glass candles and lanterns – I thought that the Broad Axe Barn at Devils Thumb Ranch absolutely glowed.    And to think that this was what it looked like outside . . .

This wedding was one of the coolest weddings we have ever done.  Literally, it was -45 degrees here in Tabernash that first week of February this year (that was not a typo – it was NEGATIVE 45.  Anywho . . .).  Looking at these two, you would never know it was freezing (or 70 degrees below freezing).  This stunning couple (inside and out) played in the snow, ran around in the stables and we got to bring in 12′ tall trees wired with 1000′s of feet of twinkle lights (which are now planted on the family ranch in Oklahoma).  And let me tell you, the Broad Axe Barn at Devils Thumb Ranch ab-so-lute-ly glowed.  Enjoy these simply beautiful pictures from our new photography crush, Aaron Snow.  If you would like to see more from this stunning day, check out the feature on weddingchicks!  I have a whole new appreciation for burlap mixed with ruffles, feathers and a million twinkle lights . . .

And now, kuddos to the most . fun . bridesmaids . dress. Ever.

A great big old thank you to one of our favorite couples and the entire crew who made this day happen . . .

Tracey and Jeff – Devils Thumb Ranch Wedding   1 comment

This Devils Thumb Ranch wedding was bright and whimsical and FUN!!!  I loved the combination of dramatic red flowers against a backdrop of subtle black and white damask (we were able to incorporate it into the napkins, the ribbon and best of all – THE CAKE!)  Yes, Paula from Teacup absolutely blew me away (again!) with this gorgeous 2 tiered damask cake.  Enjoy!
